Bernerd Garsen has come full circle with the launch of Garsen Golf, returning to the game he first fell in love with at age 10. Since founding the company in 2012 with the introduction of the groundbreaking EDGE putter grip, Bernerd has grown the Garsen line to include a full range of innovative designs — all having won professionally around the world.

Bernerd’s journey to entrepreneurship was anything but typical. Raised in California, he learned the game of golf from his father before pursuing a successful career as a professional motocross racer from ages 18 to 21. In his twenties, he transitioned into the fashion industry, modeling for global designers such as Giorgio Armani and Gianni Versace, and appearing in international campaigns for brands including BMW Motorcycles, Cunard Cruises, Volvo, MasterCard, and Iberia Airlines.

Before launching Garsen Golf, Bernerd spent 12 years in the South Florida golf industry. With a focus on the putting discipline, he studied the frustrations of thousands of golfers and recognized that most issues began on the greens. Driven by a desire to improve their putting experience, he began experimenting with grip shapes — cutting, sanding, and gluing prototypes by hand — refining them with feedback from both touring pros and amateurs. After securing USGA approval and worldwide patents, he launched his first production run of the EDGE and took it directly to the PGA Tour.

Garsen Golf putter grips have now been trusted in over 86 professional wins across the PGA and European Tours, including the 145th Open Championship, where Henrik Stenson captured the Claret Jug and set the 72-hole scoring record for a major using the Garsen MAX grip. The 2024 AIG Women’s Open was won by Lydia Ko - with a masterful putting performance with the QUAD Tour 15. Garsen Golf is also the only grip company to have all 3 Olympic Medals - Gold, Silver, and Bronze!

No matter where his career took him — from the racetrack to the runway — golf remained a constant passion. That same passion now drives Garsen Golf’s mission: to innovate the way golfers connect with their putter, one grip at a time.
